Grapes Vitus vinefera


A deciduous vine that produces a sweet fruit worthy of enjoyment. Varieties we sell are European in origin. Grapes are full of anti-oxidants and are high in vitamin C. These vines bear fruit on 2 year old wood. All the selections of grapes we sell are self-fertile. We sell both table and wine grapes. What follows are descriptions of the selections we sell.

TABLE

'Autumn Royal' - The firm, generally seedless grapes produced by this vine are oval in shape and measure 1 inch long. Skin is dark purple almost black with a whitish cast. The flesh is yellow green in color, very crisp, and has a sweet taste. This selection ripens in late September to early October. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.

'Black Emerald' - This selection produces seedless, round to oval shaped grapes that measure less than 1 inch long. Skin is black with a white, waxy cast. Flesh is clear, crisp and has a mildly sweet taste. This selection ripens early, June to July. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.

'Crimson Seedless' - This is a seedless, large grape with translucent, red skin. Flesh is clear, crisp and has a great spicy/sweet flavor. This selection ripens July to August. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.

'Fantasy' - This is a medium size, dark blue, seeded grape that is thin-skinned and firm. Skin is black in color with a slight shine. Seedless flesh is clear with a mellow flavor. This selection ripens June to July. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.

'Flame Seedless' - This selection produces a seedless, round grape with a translucent, red color. Flesh is clear in color and has a great sweet/tart balance. This selection ripens in mid-May to August. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.

'Kyoho' - This grape is very large, seeded and has a black colored skin with a waxy, whitish cast. The flesh is very juicy and very sweet. The selection originated in Japan and the name Kyoho means "huge mountain". This selection ripens June to August. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.

'Lady Finger' - The large, light green, seeded grape produced by this vine is slightly elongated and has a thick skin. Flesh is clear in color and has a slightly sweet taste. This selection ripens in late August to September. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.

' Muscat ' - This vine produces a large, seeded, oval shaped grape with a dull green colored skin. Flesh is very juicy and has a musky flavor. A great selection suitable for planting along the coast. This selection ripens in late August to October. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.

'Perlette'
- The green, seedless, round berries of this grape have a waxy cast on their skin. Skin is tender with a flesh that is sweet/tart and is very crisp. This selection ripens in late July to August. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.

'Red Globe'
- This selection produces a large to very large seeded grape with a red color. Skin is firm and flesh is very juicy. This selection ripens late, June to late August. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours

'Ruby Seedless' - The ruby colored, seedless grapes of this selection have a very tender, thin skin. Flesh is crisp and sweet tasting. This vine is a heavy producer and ripens in August. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.

'Thompson Seedless'
- This is one of the most popular seedless grapes in the west. Skin is light green in color with a slightly golden cast to it. Flesh is mild tasting and juicy. This selection ripens in June to September. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.
 

WINE

' Chardonnay' - This is a wine grape that is used to make fine white wine and champagne. A medium size fruit with a golden-yellow color. This selection ripens July to August. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.

'Merlot' - This is a wine grape. A medium size, thin skinned grape with dark red, almost black skin. Merlot is used in the production of red wine. This selection ripens in late June to August. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.

'Pinot Noir' - This is a wine grape used to make burgundy type wines. A small, thin skinned grape with a black color. Requires cooler summers to produce effectively. This selection ripens in mid-September to October. Vine needs approximately 100 chill hours.
