Pluot Prunus salicina X Prunus persica
A Pluot is a cross between a plum and an apricot. The fruit resembles plums for the most part, but they have a slight fuzz on their skin. The result of these crosses produce some interesting flavors. What follows are descriptions of the selection we sell.
'Flavor Queen' - This tree grows to a maximum height of 12-15'. Small size fruit is dark green in color. Flesh is orange in color, very sweet and has a plum taste to it. Use any other Pluot or any Japanese plum that blooms at the same time for pollination. This selection ripens in Mid-July to August. Tree needs approximately 550-650 chill hours.
'Flavor Supreme' - The small size of this fruit has green skin with dark red spots. Flesh is red in color and has a sweet flavor. Use any other Pluot or any Japanese plum that blooms at the same time for pollination. This selection ripens in June. Tree needs approximately 550-650 chill hours.
