Large pink flowers and unique leaves make this tree spectacular. This tree is shortly deciduous and has an umbrella-like form which normally reaches 25' high and wide. Leaves are butterfly-shaped (having two lobes) and some may drop briefly during fall to spring bloom period. Flower colors are variations of pink, measure 4-5 inches wide and resemble orchids. Bauhinia purpurea PURPLE ORCHID TREE
Purple orchid-like flowers turn this tree into a show during spring. This shortly deciduous tree has an umbrella-like form, which reaches 30' high with an equal spread. Leaves (having two lobes) are butterfly-shaped and are light green in color. Flower color ranges from light pink to purple, measure 3 inches wide and appear from winter through spring.
