A California native that can tolerate tough, dry conditions. This is an evergreen tree that can reach heights of 20-25' and spreads close to 15'. Dark green, leathery leaves measure 2-4 inches long and have a toothed margin. Small, white flowers appear in summer and are followed by red berries in the winter. USDA: 7-10 Sunset: 5-9, 14-24
