Lagerstroemia

Lagerstroemia indica CRAPE MYRTLE
Beautiful flowers, interesting bark, small size; this tree has it all. Leaves are 2-3 inches long and turn color in the fall before they drop. Flowers occur on new growth at the tips of branches during the summer. Attractive mottled bark peels to reveal light pink new bark. This tree can exhibit drought tolerance once established. Hybrid varieties are the result of a cross between Lag. indica (Crape Mrytle) and Lag. fauriei (Japanese Crape Myrtle). These varieties are bred for their hardiness and their resistance to powdery mildew. Characteristics of the selectons we grow are listed below. USDA: 7-9 Sunset: 7-10, 12-14, 18-31 (all selections)
