Gray, ridged bark, and great fall color make this tree a top seller. This is a deciduous tree that generally reaches 60' high with a spread of 30'. Leaves are 4-6 inches long and are lost in a brilliant display of color in the fall. Bark is gray and furrowed and is an interesting sight when the tree is bare. Tree is resistant to oak root fungus. Liquidambar styraciflua 'Burgundy' BURGUNDY SWEET GUM
Burgundy Sweet Gum is a selection that has dark purple foliage which hangs on the tree late into the season. This deciduous tree can reach 80' high with a spread of 30'. 4- 6 inch wide palmate leaves turn dark red in fall and persist longer on tree than other liquidambar selections. This selection takes on a more columnar growth habit than other Sweet Gums. It is a deciduous tree and usually grows to 70' high with a 35' spread. Palmate leaves measure 4-6 inches wide.
