This Poplar has dark, glossy green foliage and does well in mountain areas. A deciduous tree by nature, this tree usually reaches 50' high and spreads out near 40'. Populus alba WHITE POPLAR
The interesting leaf characteristics and the fast growth of this tree make it a good choice. This is a deciduous tree that can reach 40-50' high with a spread of 40-50', but may grow much larger. Leaves are lobed and measure 2-5 inches long. When wind blows the leaves appear to "shimmer" because of the contrast between the white undersides and the green tops. Balm-of-Gilead Poplar is a massive, fast growing tree perfect for parks or other large spaces. This deciduous tree reaches 40' high with a spread of 30'. Broad, pointed leaves measure 2 ½ to 6 inches long. Buds have an aromatic scent when emerging in the spring. Tree thrives in moist soils. A great Poplar for higher elevations, even up to 10,000 feet. Glossy green leaves are roughly heart-shaped and measure 2-4 inches long. When there is the slightest of breezes the leaves flicker and reflect sunlight.
