This is a tough tree that can be grown in a variety of soils, from dry to completely wet. An unusually deciduous conifer, this tree can reach up to 60-70' high with a spread of 30'. Needles are ½ inch long and turn orange-brown before dropping. Shredded bark is reddish brown in color. USDA: 5-10 Sunset: 2-10, 12-24

Fine texture of the needles and this trees' silhouette make it a top choice. This is an evergreen tree in warmer areas and a deciduous tree where the weather gets cold. Tree usually grow to a height near 60' high and spreads out 40-50'. Needles are light green in color, are much more fine in texture than Taxodium dis. and turn a golden yellow in the late fall.
