Ulmus crassifolia CEDAR ELM
A great Elm native to northern Texas that can take wet or dry soils. This is a deciduous tree that usually grows to 60' high with a spread of 35-45'. Leaves measure 2-3 inches long, are dark green in color and have serrations on the edge. Bark is light brown with light fissuring. Tree can exhibit drought tolerance once established. USDA: 6-9
Ulmus parvifolia CHINESE ELM (seedling)
A fast growing tree that develops dense, arching branches. This semi-deciduous tree can reach 30-40' high with roughly an equal spread. Oval leaves measure 1-3 inches long and have toothed margins. Ulmus parvifolia 'Drake' DRAKE ELM
This selection of Chinese Elm has smaller leaves and a more weeping, rounded habit. This tree is semi-deciduous and usually grows to a height of 35' with a similar spread. Leaves measure 2-3 inches long and are toothed on the margins. Bark takes on mottled appearance with age. This selection has shown more resistance to disease and insects than others. Ulmus parvifolia 'True Green' TRUE GREEN ELM
This variety of Elm has a more rounded head and small, dark green leaves. The True green Elm is a deciduous tree that can reach 60' high with an equal spread. Leaves measure 2-3 inches long and are toothed on the margins. Bark takes on a mottled appearance when it is shed off in patches. Tree is resistant to oak root fungus.
